I know, I know. The UK has been famous because of its tea. But, I don’t know why coffee shops seem to outnumber tea shops in London. I haven’t even seen myself a UK original tea shop. Weirdly enough, I found a Chinese tea shop, somewhere in Central London. I heard my friend went to a tea shop and ended up paying around 30 GBP for two people. It’s very expensive for a student like me (haha). So I will save up and go there to taste the experience of high-tea like a royal family!
If you ask me why I love coffee, it is because it tastes nice and it can make me stay awake. Some people don’t like coffee because it’s bitter. Yeah, I used to be addicted to coffee with brown sugar. But now, I get the idea that coffee should be pure and that bitterness is the art. Very beautiful right? However, not all coffee shops offer great coffee. Some of their cappuccino is too watery and don’t really have a coffee taste.
After around 6 months in London, I made a curation of great coffee shops. Save this blog link and you can look back whenever you need to. It will definitely save you time!
1. Over Under Coffee
I stopped by this coffee shop after running at the Brompton Cemetery park. It is a coffee shop with brunch fare by day & cocktail bar with snacks by night in a contemporary setting. If you see this picture, the coffee shop is very humble with a small space. But if you see there is a space in front of the building, yep, you can also sit there.

2. Bob’s Cafe
Bob’s Cafe is a rustic-chic bistro serving all-day fare such as burgers, steak frites & eggs plus brunch & drinks. I went here to spend my online class, the service was fantastic! Electricity socket is everywhere so you don’t have to worry. It is not so crowded as well so you can still work or have meetings there.
Location: Bob’s Cafe – 77 Salusbury Rd, London NW6 6NH https://goo.gl/maps/gQF1Ug2thkC49Vft9
3. Farm Girl
This is the outdoor part of Farm Girl cafe, where I organized a meeting there. I love its bright and casual atmosphere. In the indoor part, there are tiled walls with bright blue colors. This cafe serves health-conscious brunches, smoothies and sandwiches. The coffee was okay, I ordered its cappuccino. But there are other colorful coffees that are very ‘instagrammable’ for sure.

4. Milk Beach
Milk Beach is a chic Australian eatery offering brunch & sharing plates, plus cocktails & specialty coffee. The atmosphere would make you feel like you are at a beach in Australia. Eventhough you are actually freezing in London.
Location: Milk Beach – 19-21 Lonsdale Rd, London NW6 6RA https://g.page/milkbeachlondon?share
5. WatchHouse Tower Bridge
I must say WatchHouse branding seems like working out really well. It is so hip with people lining up in front of the coffee shop since early morning to almost afternoon. What’s with this coffee shop? This coffee shop has a minimalist vibe serving sweet & savoury brunch classics, plus coffee. I ordered its flat white and I really like its thickness and after taste. Uh! Perfect.
Location: WatchHouse Tower Bridge – 37 Shad Thames, London SE1 2NJ https://g.page/whtowerbridge?share
6. Monmouth Coffee
Monmouth cafe offers cakes and carefully sourced coffee. The first of tiny chain that roasts its own beans. It doesn’t serve a disposable cup anymore, so you have to bring your own cup or they can serve with glass. One of the ways to save the planet!
Location: Monmouth Coffee Company – 27 Monmouth St, London WC2H 9EU https://goo.gl/maps/MDoptCpia4xyxQAT7
7. The Coffee Jar
From sitting inside this small coffees hop, I can sense that there are many regulars there. The barista can greet the customer with their names and ask how they’re doing. Even she knows the name of the customer’s dog! This coffee shop is located in one of Camden High Streets road branches. It sells artisan coffees, homemade snacks, pastries, and cakes in a snug coffee shop with a mellow ambiance.
Location: The Coffee Jar – 83 Parkway, London NW1 7PP https://goo.gl/maps/Y3ZTTdVFZoBkWYF67
8. The Fields Beneath
The Fields Beneath is honestly the first coffee shop that I have ever tried. And its flat white was SO GOOD. I tried it after my morning run at the Talacre Garden in West Kentish Town. As the name suggests, this quirky brick and wood cafe is located beneath the station arches.
Location: The Fields Beneath – 52a Prince of Wales Rd, London NW5 3LN https://g.page/thefieldsbeneathNW5?share
9. Ngopi UK
Indonesian specialty coffee is served in this small coffee shop, along with snacks and lite bites to accompany. You can also order the ground coffee for 9 GBP. I ordered its matcha latte and I LOVE IT! You should try too.
Location: Ngopi UK – 78 Dalston Ln, London E8 3AH https://goo.gl/maps/PSMvy5Cq5nQ6H67n7
10. Coffee Addict
I would say its cappuccino is not bad. The pink building and interesting decor probably made this coffee shop pretty popular.
Location: Coffee Addict – 324 Vauxhall Bridge Rd, London SW1V 1AA https://g.page/coffeeaddictldn?share
That’s all and see you on another list! 🙂
